New Portfolio Design
April 7, 2010
I’ve been wanting to update my portfolio website with a new design. With the new update, I’ll be able to bring in new content every week. The problem with the current design is that viewers have to click into 3 different pages, just to view one of my projects. Not only that, but for an employer to view my portfolio, they would have to click through 3 more pages just to download a copy of my resume. I find that it’s a hassle and the functionality of my website becomes a fail. Moreover, just to update my site is a nightmare. Don’t let the simple layout fool you. Although aesthetically, I still find that the overall look and feel is pleasing.
Right now, the new portfolio website I’m currently working on fixes all the problems listed, while updating the look and feel:
1) It fixes the problem of clicking through the site just to view my projects by grouping a category into one slideshow. 2) You may download/view my resume from the main page.
3) Updating the website is much more simple.
4) The rest of the info I’ll let you find out.
I’m pretty satisfied on the overall progress at the moment. I’m trying to implement some JQ coding to give the design more “pow”.
Geek Prodigy clothing
March 6, 2010
So my friend Axel “Ace” wants to design some shirts and did some sketches of how the shirts would look. I offered to clean up the pictures for him and give some art direction. I figured why not, because I never had that kind of experience and thought it will be fun. He sent the sketches over through the email and I went ahead and started doing some production work. Once I rendered all of his characters, I put them together to give a look that he’s trying to go for. His clothing line will be called “Geek Prodigy” after his b-boy crew and will be selling these shirts for $25 ea. His characters can basically be placed into anything: Stickers, Skateboard designs, Messenger Bag designs, Car decals, pretty much anything. Here are some of the pictures for the shirts that we’re working on.

Graffiti Trucker Hats
February 10, 2010
I’ll be designing some hats w/ Graffiti for fun (once I have enough people that would want it, since I have to purchase hats in bulks). I’ll be using canvas mesh caps to write on. The tag name “BREM” will be the name I’m using throughout all of the hats. That’ll basically act as the brand name. Any custom made designs I’ll have to charge extra. If this project doesn’t work, then oh well! Here’s the cost:
$25 BREM Original – These are going to be the main hats I’ll be selling. It’ll be the exact style and colors from the Zumiez competition.
$35 BREM Custom color – With these hats, you’ll be able to choose the color of the mesh, and the color of the hat. The design will stay the same as shown in the photograph, but you have a little more control over what you want.
$15 BREM Line Art – This will be the simplest option. Cheap hats, but purely all clean black lines with no color. This is basically my favorite stage and sometimes I wish I can just keep it uncolored.
$50 Custom Made – You have control of what word is on the hat, what color mesh you would like and the color of the background/type/3d/style. This would take the most of out my time and require a lot of attention and work, but is the most customized.

Post Graduation Agenda
January 30, 2010
Life after school has been pretty bland since I haven’t landed a job yet. I’ve actually just been relaxing and enjoying the gap between post graduation and work. I’m still working for Jennergy Inc, though I’m now a Freelancer for the company and no longer a consistent light part-time. So what am I doing now, you ask?

Getting Ready For Portfolio Presentation?
December 29, 2009
My experience with portfolio presentation wasn’t that great, as well as it not being so bad. Here are some of my experiences for things I wish I could have done differently.

December 7, 2009

The event is going to be held January 8 2009 and is open to the public. Right now we’re looking for sponsors to potentially order/buy a floor other than linoleum. Although, it’s fine if we don’t.
Updated Portfolio Site Progress
November 28, 2009
I’m currently adding a little more flavor to my online portfolio. I’ll also be taking out and adding stronger content. There is 2 case studies that will be added but overtime, there’ll be short case studies for each project. I’ll be keeping the same design layout but with a little more energy.
Unintentional Type
October 7, 2009
I’ve been through a couple dedicated projects with my friends or by myself and when it comes to doing something by yourself—either to make you better or make you smarter, or whatever—it’s very challenging. I’ve never thought about a project that relates to anything in my profession though, but I thought of a fun not so serious project that involves type or Unintentional Type that was inspired by the concept of Finding Interesting by Shelby White.
It would be fun to have other people try it. The project involves opening your mind to creatively see the small things in life—of all the things that we overlook everyday—and find something naturally unintentional that resembles a letter. Also you’re limited to finding type in the same city. The goal is to complete the alphabet. My goal is this, and to maybe create a silly font from it that I’ll name Unintentional Seattle.
While walking through Seattle, I only found three on Alaskan way so far. It was interesting because I found myself actually looking at everything. I’m talking about buildings in whole, trees, sidewalks, cracks on the road, railings—anything that is usually something that I would not give a care for—to find something that would unintentionally resemble a letter, and it was actually fun. I’ll be able to continue to look for more on Monday when I go back. The following are the letters E, Z and F.
Mobility
October 4, 2009
Finally got WP on my phone which is really cool ね? It’ll be my last quarter at the Art Institute and depending on things over here nearby will reflect on my decisions on what I need to do later. But, as of right now I’m not certain. I’ll need to start sending out resumes and promotional pieces. I really need to find a way to make up my extra non working hours so I have a total of 40 hours so I can start paying off my student loans. That’s basically my goal as of right now.
